    Every year has different code in it. Not only that, but different years have different chip sizes and amounts of pins.

      John, as of now I will not be touching anything from 96 and back. sorry.

      The 96 PCM is uses a different chip than the 97.. which isn't that bad.. but the kicker is the 96 has a gel coating all over the PCM which really makes it hard to work on it.

      96 cars should be able to use 97 PCM's though.

        magnus, i want to be your first customer. i need a reprogrammed pcm more than anybody. please just let us know if you still plan on persuing it.
        6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

            [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img] nino how could you say you need a reprogrammed pcm more than anyone?? There are alot of us pre 98 that need it because theres nothing else out there, atleast you have a couple options hpp3 and asechip.

              I think nino made that comment because he just got the powerpack installed and he is having some problems that this maybe able to help out with. I don't think he really meant everyone else should wait while he gets it done first....because I'm getting it first, DUH!

                just when I thought there would be programming available for my 96. GM gets some vagisil and rubs all over the pcm so Magnus can't work on it. Any 97 5 speed guys wanna trade?

                          How much would it cost to have a shop reprogram the pcm? Also, wouldn't it affect the cars smog characteristics and possibly make it where it won't pass the smog check? Here in Cali we are starting to get the dreaded Smog check 2 which is very strict. Thanks
