  • Terminology and Tables for beginners

    This is a compilation from hptuners, along with some basic stuff some might not know. If anything is wrong please correct me.

    These are basic things you will see in various tables
    MAF = Mass Airflow Sensor
    MAP = Manifold Air Pressure, measures in KPA
    IFR = Injector Flow Rate
    LTFT = Long Term Fuel Trims
    STFT = Short Term Fuel Trims
    ECT = Engine Coolant Temperature
    IAT = Intake Air Temperature
    KR = Knock Retard

    *IFR Table*
    IFR vs. KPA Vac: decreasing values makes the VCM think the fuel injectors are smaller therefore keeping them on for a longer period of time which increases fuel flow and makes the engine run more rich. Increasing values does the exact opposite. This is a good starting point for getting LTFT's slightly negative.

    Excellent writup on timing
