  • How much timing are you running?

I just wanted to know how much timing other people are running, especially supercharged and turbo engines. My top end in the .86 and .92 between 4000 and 6000 rpms are set from 9 and 7 degrees of timing. I know I need a intercooler but I wanted to see what everyone else was running. Please post.

Most people are pretty conservative, running stock timing.

9 and 7? stock is 22 at WOT I believe, how much timing did you pull and is it only in the upper RPMs?

yah but hes running a blower and hptuners timing tables arent quite perfect from car to car(usually reads higher) but it really all depends on KR i cant run much more then 11* in mine at wot.

My enigne seems to like about 8-12 degrees depending on the mixture. Advance it more, and the KR drops it back even farther.

Don't assume that you need an intercooler, unless you turn the boost way up. At 8psi I lost HP by adding the intercooler. I'm running a bar and plate, 3.5in core, vertical flow unit with no noticeable presure loss. Plus I bet your powerdyne is more thermaly efficent than my little turbo.

Well I started running 11 psi and it is geting hotter out so I've had to drop my timing to around 7 degrees in the high oct. and about 4 in the low oct. in the higher rpms. PHX64, I think your right about the intercooler. I think I'm going to go with methanol injection to cool the intake temp. down.
