  • Couple more KR ?s

    1: when i look at the histogram in HP Tuners and see an amount of KR when the log has finished playing..is this the exact amount of timing that i pull in the SAME cell in BOTH the high and low octane tables?

    2: sometimes the KR seems to go back and forth over the same cells..a cell will start out at 5 ..and then it will go over it again and increase it to 10 by the time its done playing..why does it do that..and so is 10* the amount i pull there in the spark tables?

    I don't know about your histogram, but I can tell you that pulling 1* of timing doesn't = 1 KR.

    If you are seeing knock at any place I generally pull timing across the board, this isn't the "best" way to do it persay, but it's generally easiest.

    If you are seeing 10* of KR then something is wrong and you are losing lots of power right there.

    Are you seeing knock at WOT N/A?

      WOT NA i see 1 - 3 degrees really quick somewhere during the top of second gear..but thats it..i dont think i need to pull it across the board cuz i found the cells where im getting it..on the bottom right corner of the table..about 6 cells high and 6 cells wide..a good 10* in those on spray..basically the top end..i dont get any at all on all the rest of the table..these were the same exact cells i was getting the KR in at WOT NA too..so i think i found the trouble spot

        How many logs do you have to verify that's the only place you're going to see knock? Thats the only thing I meant by pulling across the board.

        If you have enough logs to verify your ONLY trouble spots pull it only for those areas.

        If you're seeing 10-12 only at higher RPMs it's probably not false knock, I would say pull maybe 8* of timing in the cells you are seeing knock in and go from there.

          basically yesterday i just took about 3 NA pulls and logged every time..i pulled timing in the cells where i was getting KR until finally on the 3rd run there was none..i think i actually ended up pulling about 3* total from those cells..each time it was in those same cells..same as it is on the juice..only at high rpms

          when im running juice on race fuel..if im not getting KR in all the other cells..can i advance the timing in those??

            You will probably see more knock on spray, but the race fuel may correct the problem.

            yes you can add timing up until the point where you see knock and back it back down a *, but you only gain HP up to a certain point and it is different with every car, so you may be adding timing after a point and see no gain from it.
