    P1671 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit


    Hmmm...This is like trying to speak mandrin to me. What does this mean and what can I do to fix it on my car.

    99 v6 5speed
    FTRA kit, Whisper Lid, free ram air mod, Richmond 3.73 gears, Dynomax Catback, Poly Tranny mount, Vette Wheels, Expensive Audio equipment :). HID headlight Kit, Billet Grille, Billet Antenna, Eurotails, Carsound Cat

    According to my factory service manual, there is no DTC P1671 on 99+. The following is from a 98 V6, but should be the same.

    Start off by checking all the fuses.

    Does your instrument panel all work correctly when it does the self-test on startup?

      Yea, everything works fine. No bulbs that i know of are out. There was another code that came up, but I can't remember what it was. I am going to autozone on monday to get it scanned to try to find out what the real deal is. The last time I went I had a code saying that either my cat was bad, or I was leaking oil into my exhaust. So I already bought a carsound cat and am waiting for it to be sent here, then I will get it put in and try to fix my ses light. It is night time right now, and don't really feel like going outside and checking all of my fuses. Does this include the fuses under the hood as well?

        Should only be the ones in the car, but wouldn't hurt to check the others also.

            Well, after doing a little bit of research I found out that the MIL is actually an error with the post-cat O2 sensor. Already bought a high-flow cat and the o2 simulator, just waiting for those to come in and.....bye bye mr SES light.
