97 pcm into a 96

i know i can put this pcm in my 96. but i dont know if i can with the 97 pcm being for a automatic and my car is a 5 speed. will i still be able to use it and if so is there anything i have to do to make sure it works properly by not trying to look for a tranny that isnt there???

You need to get a 97' m5 vin # and have the dealer flash it with a 97' vin #. Then it is plug & play. It was about $75.00 to flash it.

so i can still use the 97 pcm with the auto just have to get it reflashed. too easy thanks
