I made a bracket to mount my dipstick. Much cleaner engine bay with the EGR gone, and now there's still a bracket for the dipstick. Looks great. </font>
Got a pic of the bracket? </font>
x2

May be lower intake temps, but you're gonna have higher combustion chamber temps. That means a higher chance of detontation. </font>
how does the work ???

WOT you won't notice any difference in temps cuz your EGR is closed at WOT. Part throttle cruising when the EGR is open is when it keeps it a little cooler because it introduces NOX (particles of nitrogen) from the exhaust which doesn't combust and therefore takes up space and doesn't create heat. Without the EGR more air goes in instead of the NOX into the combustion chamber and therefore raises temps and chance of detonation.
Correct me if I am wrong someone, that is how I understand it after researching it
EGR actually reduces the creation of Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) by lowering combustion chamber temps. Higher temps create more NOx, so the goal is to decrease the temps. Exhaust gasses are mostly inert, so all it does is take up space in the charge going to the cylinder. In addition to reducing NOx, lower combustion chamber temps also allow for more timing advance, less chance of detontation, and increased gas mileage. All of which are lost if you remove the EGR.
IMO, I'd advise against removing EGR for no reason. "Cleaner intake and lower intake temps" are not good reasons for removing it.

taking it off cuase the focker won't stop leaking is

if the egr is only used to lower combustion chamber temps, then why is it required to pass state inspection. I find it hard to beleve that the egr is only for reducing combustion chamber temps, because then it seems it would be wide open during wot trying to keep everything cool. In my opioin, the egr is there to reduce emissions. I dont think it does, but thats why its there. Again, this is all my 2 cents, i think the egr valve is the dumbest thing ive ever heard of. Again, this is just all my 2 cents.

Did you read my post? Decreasing the temperature does reduce emissions. ;)
did you guys use gaskets on th block off plates or no?
I ws thinking of making some and doing mine sinece my still leaks...
