    Re: Awesome Tuning

I'd like to see at least some Dyno sheets to back up his claims of 30+ hp over a stock pcm tune on a stock car without him actually seeing how the car reacts to the changes he has made.... not all cars will react the same to certain changes and can even make things worse in some cases if things are changed too much...

this sounds like a load of bs (esp for ~$75) but that's just my opinion

i concur / agree with you
sounds like a little too much talk
      but might be worth $75

        Re: Awesome Tuning

I would probably agree if it is a stock manual transmission, but if it is a automatic I think it is worth it and can see getting atleast 20+ horsepower from getting rid of the Torque managment.

          Re: Awesome Tuning

getting rid of TORQUE MANAGEMENT will not gain you any horsepower you will only gain the abilty to transfer TORQUE to the ground and more abilty to abuse the trans.

dont get me wrong if you build your trans to take the abuse its a great idea to get rid of it otherwise its just a waiting game with your trans.

I understand how you might think that your car has more power just by someone removing the TM mainly because you WILL accelerate faster but that has nothing to do with your horsepower only your abilty to transfer TORQUE from the engine to the ground

              yea, hes right,
but i add that removeing T.M. will also help you shift faster

here is a website that actually shows Torque Management in the works with autotap

on that link just posted above,
it shows how T.M. reduces ignition timing (his goes to -20 or more)
                    that will reduce your hp

                        Re: Awesome Tuning

it reduces timing to reduce TORQUE going through the trans..... The computer measures the torque being transferred to the trans and reduces timing

HP has nothing to do with your trans... they are rated using TQ

your timing is reduced when you stomp the gas or switch gears, not when you are nearing the top of a gear.

TM is only there for longevity of the trans...

ITS called TORQUE MANAGEMENT not HORSEPOWER MANAGEMENT.... it only kicks in till you hit ~10 mph so if you are worried about your HP under 10 miles an hour then yea its limiting your HP but at that point how much HP are you trying to show?

Like I said before... getting rid of TM will allow you to accelerate faster but it will not increase top end/HP

FYI- This is not a side job for me ... Tuning is my life. Without it I wouldnt be able to pay my bills so I have no choice but to learn and know all of these things

                          oh, i believe you
edit: i should've said power instead of horse power. cant have horse power without torque

not all transmissions hold up the same... you happen to be very lucky if you have nothing done to mod the trans and it lasted this long... enjoy it while it lasts and when it doesnt last anymore rebuild it better than before and have some more fun
