i have a 00 camaro with 84k on the stock motor and stock fuel system (new fuel filter). i supercharged it about 120 miles ago, and my car is sputtering when i go WOT. everyone on ls1tech.com says i need a tune. but shouldnt my car be fine without tuning for the s/c?? i plan on getting a tune anyways, but i want my car to run right first.. then get a dyno, then have TSP tune my car again.
ideas?
p.s. its a 6psi ribbed pulley. 103" belt, powerdyne blower, etc.
Thats an awesome deal!!!! My custom tune cost me $575. Mmainly cuz the shop had to buy licensing for a 3.8 from HP tuners. When I go back for another tune it will be cheaper, but still not $50.
I would deff get it tuned even though its a little rough right now. The tuner told me that cars with centrifugal sc's are picky and can sometimes need a lot of tuning depending on the application. Yes, you are right, it shouldnt NEED a tune just yet, but like the tuner told me, some cars are just picky like that.
Also, if I were you, I wouldnt get it tuned by a shop then tuned again by TSP. I would just leave it alone after the first tune. Just my .02
i would still get a dyno tune...TSp is only gonna be so accurate on a F/I car because its all guessing....a dyno tune is the real thing. No screw ups
Juiced Rally Red 98 A4<br /><br />Way too much to list....<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2263415\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2263415</a>
This is how I look at it
Dyno tune
One shot $350-450
Mail order tune
$125+ shipping your old pcm=$135
1 hour dyno time w/ wideband=$125
Ship back computer to dial in a/f, spark & whatever else is needed=$40
1 hour dyno time w/ wideband to verify final a/f=$125
Total on Mail tune=$425
And in the end its still a mail tune
don't forget to add in the cost of a decent scan tool so you can verify if your having kr or whatever else. A mail tune is rarely a one shot deal especially on a FI vehicle.
