  • What is better a dyno tune or a mail order tune for a turbo application?

    Hi everyone.

I'm about to start installing fff kit on my 01 camaro. I'm trying to run 7-10 psi with lucas 42.5 injectors. The problem is that I live in Boston there is no shop that tunes V6 camaro or firebirds in the area. The closets shop is in the next state over that has a dyno. My question is can I do a mail order tune with the type of specs I'm going to run with?

    Thanks.

A dyno tune is best but if its not available a mail order tune is better than none. i would make the trip.

Mail orders tunes are junk for forced induction applications. It needs a dyno tune or HP Tuners, otherwise you are wasting your money. Mail order tunes wont work very well cuz all cars react differently to boost so a generic tune wont help too much, if at all.

as mentioned above avoid any kind of mail order tune if your boosting.

        to many variables involved.
