  • just got hptuners... A4 advice needed!

i haven't had the chance to put stuff in the repository yet, but i did save my stock tune.

so far, i've just raised my speed limiter to 256mph and calibrated the speedometer for the 1-2mph difference from switching to 275/40/17 tires.

i'll be adjusting my timing curves after more logging (have about 30 minutes logged so far) and very careful research and review. thanks to viper for the guides!

i really am curious about the best way to adjust my a4's shift behavior.
in stock form, i hate it. i hate how it downshifts at 40-50mph with 3/4 throttle (car jerks around when it downshifts then accelerates like 3mph and shifts back to 3rd - very annoying). in the same respect, i'm not a big fan of the 2-1 shift either. i'd also like quicker shifts but i don't want to kill my transmission.

i've searched - has ANYONE changed their stock a4 setup with good results?

I got rid of torque managment and changed my 'Desired Shift Time'. I set the
entire 'normal' table to .250 and the 'performance' table to .175. Then pick
your shift points. Be sure to match the rpm with mph.

switch normal table to .175, not performance, performance has nothing to do with our cars.
