  • code P1125

Today when I was driving back to school the accelerator basically went dead. The "REDUCED ENG PWR" light and "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" lights came on. I pulled over thinking a belt may have snapped. Nope, get back on rode and pedal's fine but SES light's still on. I pulled into the first Autozone I came across and he said I was throwing a code P1125 - "Manufacturer Contrl Fuel Metering." I drive the car the last 30-40 miles to campus and unpack. During this drive the RED. ENG. PWR. light came on again and the accelerator again felt mushy (coming out of a light, it took about 1/2 second for the car to start moving after hitting the pedal and once I pushed the pedal past about 1/2" it didn't do anything more - it was like the throttle was stuck at that spot or less). At times I had the pedal to the floor and would loose speed going uphill at 55 mph.

When I got home (just now) I searched the site and found that code P1125 is "Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) System". I assume this site is right and not the Autozone scanner. If this is the case, what do I need to do to fix the problem?

For reference, my car is a 2002 Camaro (v6 of course) with the automatic transmission. It has about 40k miles on it.

that codes means you have more than 1 dtc for the APP system. I need them all and yes, the cheap autozone scanners are not always accurate with the description but the code numbers should be good

Unfortunately that's the only code the guy at autozone told me about. The printout he gave me only has that one listed. If I feel brave enough, I'll try the Autozone down the road from my apartment tonight and see if they have a scanner that gets more codes.

Okay, just went to the Autozone down the road from my apartment and same story - P1125 only.

Looks like I may be limping the car to the dealer tomorrow morning.

            BLLDOGG,
Driving home last night when my car's "Reduced Engine PWR, SES and ASR OFF" lights all came on at once.
Could barely make it up a hill.
This morning SES is on, but all others are out, car runs fine, after lunch, SES goes out. I stopped by my gas station and they did an OBD read.
I looked up the codes, and they have to do with the APP. Need some help figuring out what's going on. Here are the codes:
            P-1125
            P-1271, 1272, 1273, 1275, 1276
            P-1280, 1281, 1286
This occured when the cruise control was engaged (if that makes a difference). Any help would be appreciated.
            Thanks,
            M

sounds to me like you've got an I-D-10-T error

your gonna wanna pull your cam and retrace the rockers...if that doesn't work reset the interior plenum gauge to code "3456" and then replace the torque shift sensor relay (located under passanger side dash)....after that i've got no idea at all
