I have a 1996 3.8 Auto Camaro…I’m getting a Mail-in tune soon, and was planning on getting a 1997 PCM. However, I was looking into Jet Chips, noticing that no chip was made for 1997, but one was made for 1998…is a Jet Chip basically the same as a Mail-In Tune, or are they different? Would a 1998 PCM work in my 96?

Re: 1996 PCM to 1998 PCM...Jet Chip & Mail In
96, 97 and 98 PCM are all different. ONLY a 97 PCM will work on a 96, as the pin-outs are the same. A 98 will NOT work, unless you re-wired all the pin-outs.
And a Jet Chip is NOT the same a tune.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com
