ok i have a 3.4 with the obdI and i was thinking about sending my pcm to fastchips.com for a tune but i wanted to know if i did that would it be ok if i went with a cam that would have been safe with a stock tune because htey cant tune for a cam?

why would you send them your pcm if they can't tune for a cam? Wouldn't that be the point of trying to get your 3.4 tuned?

no i just wanted to know if they tuned it and i run like a smiple cam like funkz did would it be okay or should i just stay away fromeven trying it. because i was to get my comp. tuned for my speedo being off but i dont want to pay 300 bucks just for that i wanted the other goodies with it.

You'll still get the benefit of basic performance tuning even if they won't adjust for the cam specs. What kind of cam were you thinking of?
A cam isn't just something you throw in and mail-tune for.
Depending on what you're getting, you need valvetrain modification as well.
Some mail-order tunes have been known to decrease power on stock or near-stock cars. Just have it adjusted for the gears and leave everything else alone. That's the only thing they're really good for IMO.
You get what you pay for. Mail-order tunes are cheap, so you don't get a whole lot. It's so much better to dyno tune or at least tune with the car present.
