how do i get the governer of the car? get it tunned? is it possible to get it taken off?

    Re: governer off?

The only way to remove speed governors are through tunes or programmers.

Not sure what programmers are compatible with 97 3.8s.

only hptuners or DHP for 97s, there are jet scu2000's as well however they usually don't work.

Cheapest way is to get a mail order tune through texas-speed.com or pcmforless.com.

Where you located, maybe someone is local and can do it for ya as well

Because the speed limit where he is from is over 118 ;)

I say just disconnect the spedometer wire and then call it a day winding out 5th

i assure you its there for a reason, as you could easily damage your car attaining that speed.

Doesn't Montana have no speed limits during the day? Maybe he lives there. :poke:

I know that there are parts of the T5 that don't like extra high speed, I forget what it is exactly but it has to do with the 5th gear and the output shaft I think anyway. If not that even, there is the definite weak link in the stock drivetrain - the 2-piece driveshaft. I wouldn't want that thing spinning too fast under me, god forbid that bearing decides to seize or something and the support in the middle gets ripped and that driveshaft flops back and fourth while driving 140 miles per hour... it'd be ugly i'd imagine. Aluminum driveshafts and gforce t5 ftw
