  • Some questions for those HPTuners Users:

I want some suggestions about what tuning I can do to my car. It only has a CAI, Headers, MSD Coils and spark plug cables, 160F thermostat, practically stock.

Since I'm having trouble with my EGR connection to the header, it's leaking...i'm thinking of removing it, but I've read that when doing this the ECM has to be tuned, to eliminate the EGR from the ECM or something. Is this true, and how to do it with HPTuners, and with the things I've put to the car, what other things can I tune with HPTuner, what configurations can I do?

I'm doing this question because I want to decide if buy the HPTuners or not.

egr, just delete the codes and such that come up from removing the egr and you will be good to go. I personally don't have my egr on anymore either.

hptuners is a good mod no matter what stage of the modifications you are in

the problem with the EGR is that its leaking between its hose and the header. i've tested everything, but it keep opening again and again. its really a pain in the ***. and really dont know what else to do with it, i really dont want to do delete it.

        Any suggestions???

I'd try finding a used one real cheap, or get hptuners and delete it.

I have heard the LT1 EGR gasket is a viable option for stopping the EGR leak too...

but what gasket? 'Cause my leaking is between the header and the EGR hose, and unfortunately for a L36 Engine, there's no gasket for that connection. is there a gasket for the LT1, for that connection?

i'd tried to find that hose, but haven't found one...that's why i'm thinking of deleting it and tune the computer with HPTuners.

yes there is a gasket for LT1s for the EGR, it sticks out a bit on our cars but people have used them. If you have hptuners though just delete it and then not worry about it anymore.

hey man, i entered to your page yesterday , where you explain how to tune the ecm...so i'm gonna ask you... what things would you suggest me to tune having in mind the things i've put to the car (header, msd coils and cables, 160 F thermostat, CAI, custom cat-back exhaust and Flowmaster). i'm asking you this 'cause when I buy it I dont know where to start.

and other thing, on your page, where it says: EGR/O2 Codes, the print screen that i think is supposed to be there, isn't, and I was interested in that part.

                      thank you for your help
