OK, next mod for my car's gonna be a pcmforless tune. I noticed they ask if your MAF has been descreened. If I descreen it and tell them, can they tune it to make it not surge like everyone complains it does? It's a 97 Camaro, BTW. Getting a tune for premium fuel, speed limiter removed, tuner's choice rev limiter, 3.73's, 245/55/16 tires, 180 thermostat (is that OK, even though I've got the stock 195? should just turn the fans on earlier, right?), shorty headers, cat-back system, and no cat.

EDIT: Was just reading their FAQ, and they said to get the most HP, to switch to OBD1. How would I do that, and would you guys recommened it?

    don't descreen your car.

the faq must be talking about other vehicles without obdII

they will hook ya up just fine with their tune

If you are looking for the all out most power, the OBD1 conversions will yield 5-7 horsepower more than a programmed OBD2 PCM. The OBD1 also has free diagnostic software available and the updates are free. BUT, some states are now looking into plugging in to your OBD2 car and checking for a properly functioning OBD2 PCM with NO codes. The OBD1 conversion PCM will fail this test. You could swap your original PCM back in to pass the test, but some prefer to just reprogram and OBD2 PCM.

Would't that $7 just be a waste if he's already getting a tune for it to come on earlier?
