Whats the function of pre-cat O2 sensor? Is it like the post cat O2 sensor where you can just leave it unhooked and it doesn't affect the performance at all? I have my wideband O2 sensor where the precat O2 goes so, its been left unplugged. Don't see any problem with it so far. I'm thinking about just deleting the SES code with the HPtuner.

Precat is testing the effectiveness of the engine and sensors aftercat is going to test how well the cat is doing at filtering the **** out.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

the precat and post cat sensors are used to check emissions efficiency. The o2s in the exhaust manifolds themselves are the ones that do the a/f adjustments for your car to operate correctly
You can leave it unplugged. Most people with widebands remove the precat o2 and put their wideband in there instead and just tune out the o2 ses light from it

you need the O2's in the manifolds for your car to run right otherwise you car will refer a default a/f ratio instead of what is actually coming out, So for your car to run at the fullest extent of it's performance you need them. However the one after the cat you can trash, just tune the code out.
