2000 3.8 - On the way home, my SES light came on. I pulled a P0133 code, which I understand is the Bank 1 Sensor 1. I have no other codes, so I assume the sensor is bad.
Isn't this the sensor that's sticks out of the side of the manifold on the driver's side? Also, is it easy to replace, ie. just unbolt, unplug and pop a new one in? I have a trip tomorrow and no time to get into anything too time consuming. Thanks!
Is it easy to get to from under the car, cause it looks like a pain from the top. I've been quoted $150 to $295 (yes, $295-- I told them they were nuts) to replace it, but for a $65 part, I'd rather do it myself if it easy to get to.
Problem is, I live in an apartment and I can get fined for working on my car in the parking lot. If I'm to do it, it needs to be FAST and easy.
I replaced the sensor and my gas mileage went thought he roof. I filled up, started my trip to Ohio and drove 500 miles on the first tank. Not too shabby, I think.
yea old o2 sensors can mess up the gas mileage pretty easily. Usually at 100k miles it is good to replace them. 500 miles is really good though. That is like 30-32 miles a gallon or something like that
