I have the megasquirt up and running, but I can't get it to control timing right now. My plans down the road include putting a v9 blower on the already built 3.4. I don't plan on running anything more than 6-9 psi intercooled boost. My question is would it be stupid to supercharge the motor and only me able to adjust fuel and not spark. In the future I may be able to keep sending it away to Fast Chips and have them review dyno runs and data logs that i create to have them drop off a few degrees in the higher rpms and under boost. I don't remember Tiago controlling boost, did he and if so with what?
Re: Dumb to supercharge a car w/out timing control
tiago on his 3.4 just used a FMU for adding fuel that I know of. He didn't have anything for timing so he kept boost lower I believe.
Do the 3.4s have a IAT sensor? I cannot remember. If they do you could maybe do the resistor trick and make your PCM think the IAT is hotter and therefore retard some timing.
