need help with these codes

hi guys how are you
i have these problem
my car started acting up today i got the SES light on
and here is the code

p1404
and it reads as follow
EGR valve stuck open condition
Explanation
while monitoring the EGR valve pintle position the
ECM detected the closed position sensor voltage
higher than the learned closed position voltage
problem causes
1.-failed EGR valve
2.-carbon blockage of the pintle



can anyone point me to the right direction on fixing these

replace the egr valve.

Well, I remove the egr valve and I cleaned up, there was a lot of build up, I replace it and it worked nicely.... good way to save $200 plus

yeah dont go replacing things like that... i always try cleaning them with sensor safe carb cleaner... they always get dirty like that
