  • OBDII Port - please help

OK, so I am trying to connect HP Tuners to the OBDII port and it keeps saying that the car isnt giving power to the tuning unit.

I checked the fuse and it seemed fine, I swapped it out with another 25amp fuse just to check and same thing.

Is the port bad?/? Any help would be great

Make sure that all of your fuses are good, and also make sure that the contacts are clean on the port, and no wires are disconnected or damaged behind the port.

Also, your key needs to be in the 'on' position.

thats a check, car is in the on position and I checked the fuse over again. the cig lighter works so I know its not the fuse. I guess I gotta inspect the wires behind it and see whats up.

Ok I am getting very frustrated.

I had a keyless entry installed last summer. Do u think he may have crossed some lines?

I am at a loss......so much for installing my turbo just to find out I can hookup my car to get tuned.

have you gotten hptuners to hook up to another car?

(alot of people with older version had problems with USB--->Serial adapters not working with HPtuners, only a few did)

Re: OBDII Port - please help

try hooking something else up to your obdII, see if its hptuners. try autozone and tell them you want a code read.

I tried HP Tuners on my roomates car and it worked. I think something is F'ed up with the jack itself.

I dont know what else it could be
