  • trouble code time.

I have a OBD II Scanner with the cool looking software right.

So here is what I have
1406 - EGR Pintle Position Circuit

How do I fix this? EGR pin Stuck from Carbon buildup?

P0420 - Catalyst Efficiency below threshold (Bank 1)

    How do I fix this?

I know there are some Gurus around here somewhere!!! lol

    Of course its a 97 Camaro 3.8L

This software has you type in the year, make and engine, blah blah. You type code in and it gives it to you...

    Any help would be greatfull!

ok, I wasnt typing in PO420 in right, bad Cat.. got it..

Now I knew the 1406 was an EGR, I guess I can clean it out with Carb cleaner and see if I can tap the deposits out of it. Had to do that to my old sunfire.

What about this sea foam I keep hearing about. Is that anything like a top end cleaner from the dealer? spray in your Throttle body and rev the engine a lil to keep it from dying?

you suck seafam up through the brake booster line.

also i WOULD NOT recommend using seafoam in the oil.. unless you have a very low mileage car.

anyways, you may be able to clean the egr out.. in my case i had to replace it
