im still torn between a jeep and 96 camaro. its a 3.8 manual trans all stock. if i get it i want to start with just air intake, hone out the intake manifold, and some exhaust. id like to tune it a bit as well. i saw the 96 to 97 pcm thread and im wondering if its a bolt in for any 97pcm. i know zzperformance tunes gtp 3.8 pcms and they are from 97-2006. if i just pick up a generic 97 pcm and have them tune it for my setup and car should it be a problem what 97 i get it from? as long as its a f-body. future plans would be a gtp shortblock for a turbo kit.

Re: pcm q?
yea any 97 fbody pcm will work, however watch what trans it is for unless you get it tuned before putting it in for your trans. But yea other than that it is a direct bolt on

Any other year the PCM pin-outs are different. You could use a 98 if you re-wire the PCM connectors, and 99+ have an electronic TB. You could I suppose install that too. But then you would need to install the 99+ upper intake manifold.
