I don't remember the p0 code so i can't look it up, and the search feature on the site sucks so I can't search and find what I'm looking for. instead of looking through pages of any thread that mentions bank and sensor, I figured I'd make a new thread.

I just replaced both manifold o2 sensors, and the code came back reading bank 1 sensor 3 no activity. So the question is, which is this? Is the the post cat, or pre cat o2 sensor? I'm pretty sure I deleted the post cat sensor but maybe i deactivated the wrong one. If it is pre cat, then I'll have to replace that one as well, but if it's post then I'll just delete the code.

There is no precat o2, There are 3 total o2's one in each header and one after the cat, you deactivated the one after the cat because thats bank 1 sensor 3

you are incorrect, on the 97 cars we have 4 total O2 sensors. One in each manifold and then one in front of the cat and one after the cat.

Which way did you get rid of the post cat o2?

When I was posting I was thinking "is there a difference between the 1997 and below cars" tried to take a stab in the dark and got shafted, my fault gr8

          well I'm 96 and have 4.

The post-cat o2 sensor is sitting in my garage and I tuned the code out (or so I thought..I had to look up the code to get rid of it, as it wasn't throwing it when I put the new pcm in. It's possible that I tuned out the wrong code and I'm getting the post cat o2 code)

So which one is bank 1 sensor 3?

that is the post cat sensor.

            B1S1- drivers side manifold
            B1S2- pre-cat
            B1S3- post-cat
            B2S1- pass. side manifold

Very nice to hear. I guess I took off the wrong code then.

Does the precat o2 still have a say in the a/f mixture or is that mainly up to the manifold o2s?

                Re: o2 code: bank 1 sensor 3

precat does not have anything to do with the a/f either, most guys put their widebands in that bung and ditch the stock o2 sensor

Looking farther into it, I guess we did turn off the "right code," but there was more than just one we needed to turn out. Looks like I'm missing 4; P0143,P0144, P0146, and P0147

                  P0143 - HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 3
                  P0144 - HO2S Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 3
                  P0146 - HO2S Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 1 Sensor 3
                  P0147 - HO2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 3

                    Re: o2 code: bank 1 sensor 3

I just got the code P0137...low voltage bank 1 sensor 2
are these codes somehow related? or a whole new can of worms?
