yes that is what you need, and it is a great thing to have for your car and any of your future cars really as you can tune more than fbody cars.

It doesn't do the tuning for you, you do the tuning with it. You change the tables and parameters you want to tune your car.

cam depends on your goals and future mods along with FI or nitrous later on.

Gears depend on if you are auto or manual and again your goals along with where you drive.

I suggest using the search function through this site and reading up. There is info on everything you are asking right now and you will learn alot
