Ok guys, I've changed my coilo packs, wires, icm all about 10k miles ago and I also changed my plugs and wires before this at 106K. Now I'm at 166k miles and I'm getting my misfires again. Do you think it might be my plug wires, cat, plugs? I have no idea what it could be personally, but I was planning on getting rid of my exhaust this weekend and if it's my cat, I would just rather keep it. I think I might just replace my plugs and wires today to see fi this fixes it, but shouldn't I have a warranty on my plug wires?

probably the cat then if you have changed everything else out already. Also the p0420 code is for the cat and that would lead me to believe it is shot. They also cause random misfires if bad

60,000 0n the plugs and wires, I think I would at least look at these. While some plugs last this long, Some are long over due to be changed at that mileage.

Ok I bought plugs and wires, now hopefully I will be able to get away with just changing these. If not, I wont be selling my exhaust :(

ok update, I'm going to have my g/f's dad look at it with me tonight. Will it be fine to drive it the way it is? I mean, I can drill holes in it or I can bang it with a hammer and try to break some of it up, but I don't want to take the chance of anything going wrong...

            Re: p0300 and p0420

ok another update. So I went and checked out my cat and it was completely clogged (was really bad). I decided to put my exhaust on, seeing as a new cat was $136 plus install. I am still getting the p0300 code. Do you think I should go ahead and replace my plugs and wires or should I see if the plugs can unfoul themselves?

Ok will it be ok to drive the way it is until sunday? I'm still getting the p0300 code, but I wont have time to tackle the plugs/wires until sunday. Also, if I have a 1/4 wrench for myspark plug socket, you think that should be able to get it without me having to use any u-joints? Also, how many extensions did you guys use? I wanna try to get all the tools together from a buddy's shop lol.

how is it running? Maybe the code is just in the history if it is running fine

well it's till losing power, so I know I still need to replace the plugs. I jsut don't want to mess anythign up. I tried to delete the code, but it came back

bib brought up a good point, I had an old o2 sensor put back in it (the one that came with the cat). COuld this be causing the misfire? I don't wan tto jsut throw more money at the problem if it doesn't fix it or improve performance

If it's the O2 after the CAT, it does nothing as far as controlling fuel. It just monitors if the CAT is working.

ok so sounds mainly like it would be the plugs then. I'm gonna go ahead and throw some tr6s int here, seeing as I plan on going FI in the future

ok it stopped misfiring for a while today, then after sitting in traffic for a while, it started to misfire again. Any ideas? I still haven't replaced plugs/wires/ or o2 sensors

A wire arcing to the exhaust.
