So i installed a MOMO wheel and want to know how to get rid of the airbag light. any help is greatly appreciated

how do you get rid of an airbag light with a momo wheel?

you don't, you're going to have the light because you don't have an airbag there! and as far as I know, no one can reprogram the SRS control module. And I don't think anyone makes a sim for it.

Without the airbag theres no way in hell its gonna pass inspection anyway so don't worry about it.

yes the car will pass inspection mines just passed yesterday the inspector said something about it but I still passed he just made me take my taillight black covers off and told me to put them back on after he was all finished.


Okay to get rid of the air bag light is real easy but you must remove your console and from there its easy. There will be one wire grounded and all you have to do is unscrew it and the airbag light will be gone I promise you this

well if you have a aftermarket steering wheel it wont have a air bag so whats the problem if someone is that concerned about safety just leave the car stock

Well let's think here. A. It passed inspection in your state, at your preferred station. That doesn't necessarily mean its going to pass inspection everywhere. Since the car came with dual front airbags, it has to be inspected as such. I can promise you my uncle's station would fail something for that because it's hazardous to the driver. Secondly, removing the driver's airbag could even be considered INSURANCE FRAUD, if you're insurance rate is adjusted for the car's dual front restraints. If suddenly the car's SRS is COMPLETELY DISABLED, then you need to let your insurance company know that.

Just because you don't mind jeopardizing your life in your vehicle doesn't mean you want your passenger's life in jeopardy too. How would you feel if you lived, but your best friend who was riding next to you died when you got hit head-on by some drunk driver and the airbag would've saved his life?

Remember, Safety systems are implemented for a reason, we have to expect the unexpected.

And yeah, you could just pull the light. But think twice before you disable the whole system. Never know what could happen when someone's in the seat next to you.

I understand what you saying Im not arguing with you all Im saying is if someone takes out there steering wheel with the air bag then safety really isn't on thier mind. So many people here have aftermarket steering wheels but thats thier choice and as a owner of a aftermarket steering wheel I made that choice so I take all the compliments and if something bad happens lord forbid then I am the one to blame we all must take responsibility for our actions

I understand, I'm not trying to argue, I just want to make sure everyone sees the reprocussions that can occur as a result of altering some of these systems...
