security light

i noticed that the security light went on in my car. does anyone know what could cause it is the like a list of things that it could mean?

dirty key is the usual cause

or it can be the wires in your column

Your VATS system is malfunctioning. Try cleaning the resistor on your key, it's probably not making good contact inside the column.

yea well i cleaned the key and that didn't work
the only thing that i know i did tot he car was increase the setting on the shock sensor but i don't believe that would affect the security since i did it by the book. i dont know what else to do

it happened to me the other day, but then it went off and hasn't come back, so I guess it was just the key

yea well i cleaned both my regular and spare key and the light still wont go off. is their anything else that could cause the light to go on?

it might help to know that the light went on while i was driving.
and that the car still starts, because i was reading in the manual that if that happened to bring the car in for service. but i figured by know theirs gotta be some way around from takin it to the dealer and getting raped of money for some stupid problem

well what do i have to pull to turn the dam light off? ( wire in the steering column maybe?)

Does having lights on bother you? why pull the bulb?

as long as the light is on steady you are fine, if it starts to blink, you will have real bad problems
