  • New scan gauge

Since I plan on adding a turbo and don't want to take my laptop with me to see how the car is performing with any KR since you can set it to flash after certain about or set it for certain RPMS if your shifting over and EGT's, A/F, timing, and stores it for a couple of minutes, so you can go back and look to see what it was doing. I order this scan gauge with a blue display, black back ground , black bezel. It will replace my N20 gauge. So I'll have my fuel pressure gauge, Vac/Boost gauge, A/F gauge and the Aeroforce gauge. So I should be pretty much set. It is crazy how much this gauge does, I just need to get the EGT probe kit for it. Looks pretty good since I think I paid something like $250 back then for my Autometer fuel pressure gauge.lol Anyone else using this gauge, if so how do you like it?

In my 2 gauge pillar, the install looks very simple. Post when you get yours up and running. Mine goes out tomorrow.

        Re: New scan gauge

just plugs into the OBDII port, doesn't it? Draws power and everything from there; no wiring needed except hiding that plug...

Have had one sitting in my room for about 9 months

Great little thing, yes you can hook up a wideband, but some extra wiring is needed. that is all.

Only thing was, when I hooked mine up for a test run, it didnt shut down with the car.
Tell me if this happens with yours?

I got mine today will install tomorrow , for wideband it is one wire like if you were running it through the EGR just the , .5 volt out from the wideband to one of the AUX ports on the gauge, then just select it on the menu. As for it staying on I think it is like the interior lights it shuts down when they go off which is like 30 sec. after the doors close. It did for mine when I did a test hook up tonight when i got it. I just need to get a EGT kit for it. I'll let you know when I get everything hooked up tomorrow and get my interrior back together, and my batt. relocation kit wire ran to the back. Nice little gauge though just looking through the features, I was like damm. The KR flash feature where you can set between 1 to 3 and the 2 lights will flash if hit hits the amount you set. I'm going to set mine at 3 so if it flashes I know I have some real KR somewhere.

                  Re: New scan gauge

I got the gauge installed today, it is well worth the money, esp. if your FI or have nitrous, has where you can set limits to the readings and it will flash 2 bright red lights at you if you exceed or fall below of where you set it at , example KR it will flash if you set it at 1 and it sees 2, also has a TQ reading and HP reading and the 0-60 and 1/4 read out if you want to see where your at. So many features I have to take a couple of days to set up everything like my IAT, KR, ECT, Oil PSI and A/F limits so it will flash if something is wrong. I would recomend this to anyone, with the 2 .5 volt inputs it would cut down on alot of gauges you would need. I see why they have specials on 2 gauges, because thats all you would need to scan everything. Since I already have the boost, fuel pressure, and A/F gauges , 1 gauge is all I need. I hope to get the EGT add on for it once the turbo is on.

                    Re: New scan gauge

My friend bought one of these gauges and is very happy with it. Yesterday we pluged it into my 97 3.8 camaro and were not able to read very many things. I was driving so i was not able to play with it. Do you mind posting all of the differant things it displays for our cars. He has a blazer if that makes a differance.

They have a printout on their website for GM vehicles, pretty much the same on the gauge.

                        Any pics?

Also you didnt need to wire up a power source? I know in the direction it says some vehicles will need it, if it doesnt, thats awesome.

                          Re: New scan gauge

I can get some pics , its just in my dual gauge pod, like the pics on my cardomain in my profile except for the nitous PSI gauge it is the A-Force gauge. No power source, just plug it into the OBDII port and wired my wideband to one of the .5 volt inputs. I haven't messed with it since Fri., On the .5 volt inputs the red wire in the middle would be a power source if I read it correctly. I was hurting today so I just took it easy. I hope to get it all programed this week, with the set limiters that flash once they hit a certain point. I'm still working on my batt. in the trunk and replacing the stock coolant res. with a ALM 1qt. one , got the 1ga. wire ran on the pass. side. I was going to put it in the spare tire area but the battery box is alittle bigger then I thought, so it is going down in the hatch area, but that is alright though it has enough room to put a 80 amp relay fuse back there, I have a 80 amp up front so I'll be covered in case the 1 ga. gets cut or something in a acccident. Also will have my Dyna Batt. up front running of a isolator and my stereo off the Optima so I won't have problems starting.LOL But will have another 40LBS + off the front end.

I just checked out you F-Quick, I thought I read some Pontiacs and others would need to use the power source. That sucks are you sure it won't shut off even after you shut the car off and close the doors?

Yea, Thats what I heard, they stay on when connecting to a power source. But I mgiht just wire it to the dimmer power source, a couple people did that for their gauges and it worked fine. Hopefully the obd port will just supply the power though.
