So...Im out tuning today and I'm trying to iron out my WOT afr....I'm on the highway and I do a pull to get some readings and my afr goes down to like 7-8sh...then all of a sudden...BOOM my afr sensor goes all wacky...it starts reading that my car always either has a 8-9afr...or that I have a 21-22 afr...when I know this is not true...says idle is always 21-22. I know the tune I have in there was pretty decent from before, so I know these numbers cant be right...what do you think could have caused this? My car has also since lost alot of its lopiness since this happened...and it does smell fairly rich at the moment...I have a scan of the event if anyone wants it...

Its a constant read now of 8-9 or 21-22...I tried stopping and restarting the scan...nothing...

Im thinkin I should try and recalibrate the wideband...i dunno...Im having soo many tuning issues...I cant even get the damn thing to idle properly...

do you guys think its fried?...and it the wideband is fried...what do you think about narrowbands? they should be fried to no?

car does smell kind of rich at the moment...

    Re: wacky wideband

Look for a loose connection or exhaust leak, other than that bad controller or bad wideband sensor. Thats why I like PLX widebands no calibrating, it is automatic readings. I picked up a spare Bosch O2 sensor for like $55-60 shipped of of ebay. So if it is the sensor then it won't be too bad. I don't know how to trouble shoot widebands except for the PLX ones. Good luck, call the Co. and ask them what to look for.

a little off topic but...Im pretty sure I probably foiled my spark plugs to...it doesnt lope anymore...and it seems to idle kinda rough and not in the good way...if you put your head under the car it makes a chik chik chik chik chik sound...bad plugs right? or do you think I gotta a bigger problem on my hands...

Maybe exhaust leak by exhaust flange? or header?

I dunno...I still have the stock gaskets that came with pacesetter...I think the egr crap has some leak out there....its pretty loud under or beside the car...

the valve covers sound like they have a slight tick to them as well...but rockers were torqued to spec, new lifters, and push rods...so I doubt there is a issue in there..I think that tick is just from the cam valvetrain...

            Re: wacky wideband

My Comp OER lifters make noise, but my oil pressure is fine so I don't worry about them. But about a year ago I had my header gaskets leaking and both 3 bolt exhaust flanges leaking I guess after 6 years it was time to replace them. They were pretty loud, got the headers first then heard the 3 bolt flanges. Oh also my pipe under my oil pan was cracked and the double wall pipe was rattling & leaking so I rewelded it. After I did all that it was alot quiter.LOL
