  • How to adjust timing

I am putting in a nitrous system and i know in one of the stickies it talks about retarding the timing. How exactly is this done for the 4th gen camaro? Do you need some sort of programmer or is there a manual way to adjust it? And if it needs a programmer, which one?

    Thanks, Bob

HP tuners. www.hptuners.com Expensive but worth it to make your car run faster and not blow up. I'm using it with a turbo setup. Everyone on here will tell you HP tuners or nothing. Honestly, all else that is available for our cars is in fact, crap.

You could get a TRC-1 or TRC-2 to reduce timing but HPtuners would be the best way to go since you can tune everything.

Has anyone found a programmer for the 98 model? I heard they had every year except my year for HPP. Why?

Hpp3's do not allow you to adjust timing anyways. Listen to us. We won't lead you in the wrong direction till you deserve it.

As far as the thread in the HPtuners forum goes.. That's talking about RTT (Real Time Tuning). Meaning you can edit tables while the car is running. This black car down here in my sig is a 98 and I tune it with HP tuners. Just can't do RTT. It's not a burden at all to not have that feature.

I'm listening...just I know with HPP they don't have it for my year...like they skip an f'ing year...just wondering why? Also the link I posted said I can't see **** in real time? Why is 98 so difficult?

Also with the HPP you do all your crap and that's it, it's dead until you remove the tune from your vehicle so someone else can use it. I see similiar crap with the HPTuners, except you get 8 licenses which they say it will tune two cars maybe four...what does that mean...does each modification require a license?
