  • scaling injectors?

Right now my 42# green tops are set at 44.27 across the board and I don't seem to be running super rich or anything and the car seems to like it, it runs well all through the RPM's.

I am also in the process of doing the RussK OL Maf tuning, and was just wondering, do I need to scale my injectors if I am doing a Maf tune, or will the Maf tune take care of my fueling needs?

Or should I go ahead and Maf tune and go back and try to scale? Or should I start over, scale, then Maf tune? Or just Maf tune and call it a day?

Supposedly injectors are supposed to be scaled and left alone. Then you maf tune and whatever. But I know some people that tune by injectors. The right way is to scale them first and leave em alone though. For myself though, I've got 42.25 across the board for my injectors and I MAF tune from there. So far so good for me.

      Re: scaling injectors?

Ok, well since I have started in on my Maf tuning I guess I will just leave them set solid across the board.

Another question. I haven't really even got through the part throttle Maf tuning part but need to go to the town where I go to college ~6 hour drive. So should I just return the PE tables back to stock on my current Maf tune and go down on that? Then just pick up where I left off when I get back from my trip? Or should I flash a semi-stock tune back in it or what? I highly doubt I should drive 6 hours in Open Loop with all zeroed PE tables....

Yeah, put the PE tables back to stock and keep the MAF tune you have now. I'd say since it's a nice 6 hour drive you could get some good fuel trim learning in there to see how you're progressing.

I scale my injectors myself and they came out fine like 33-34 and a little PE but I have been tunning mine like 6-7 years so I know my car well.

            Re: scaling injectors?

Eh. ended up just flashing a basically stock tune back in it because I had an exhaust leak crop up and didn't trust my Maf tune quite yet either. The big stinking dip that is still in my Maf graph deterred me.

Good news is though after my 180* thermo install and tr6 plugs gapped at .035 :naughty: I have zero knock, in 700 miles of driving this weekend. AND get 28 miles to the gallon on a stock tune. :D
