    Re: Knock module

Yeah, I'm glad I downloaded that stock tune to compare to. Especially the spark advance tables... I set my spark tables for nitrous back to stock, and for NA, I moved that lower middle to right section to stock and added 7 degrees to some areas and some just 5 degrees.

I'm going to the drags this weekend to run the 100 shot for the first time, I'll probably run the 83 shot again first to see how things go. They would have to be better than what I had. :P

But, I know I'll be getting false KR still, because I have lowered my timing in a lot of the areas to near 0, single digits and low teens and still saw KR. :( Although, I think I still had the bad header to Y-pipe leak then.. if I'm not mistaken... since then I finally fixed that with some good sealing gaskets. I'll let you guys know how things go this weekend. I'm hoping to break into the 13's :) It's just hard to get there, with the track being close to 1,500ft above sea level and at a 3% incline. Would love to be able to run at closer to sea level But, can't complain since I started out with 16.2 being the fastest time I could get when I first got the car.

      Re: Knock module

The highest timing your going to need in the middle/ lower right side is 26-28 degrees on the high octane table.

Yeah, I re-did the table last night :) here is the high octane table for NA. I will be running the stock high octane table with the nitrous :)

Looks a lot better. Thats still more timing than I can run.

            Re: Knock module

I always run 93 octane and I usually add extra octane every few fill ups. I only drive the Camaro about one a week during the warmer months, usually don't drive it in the rain, and never in the snow anymore. So, it usually keeps the extra octane in it. Plus I almost always fill up before it hits half a tank. So, maybe the extra octane will help out. At least I'm no longer running the extremely high spark advance numbers  I've been running those for years... probably since 2004, I think that's when I started with the mail order computers.

I'll know more after a few scans :)

Another thing, I had no idea they had the Camaro and Firebirds running so rich from factory.... I looked at the power enrich section on the stock tune, and I was like wow... it went all the way to I think either 9:1 or 10:1... no wonder tuning helps cars gain power.

I also did some more comparing of the stock tune compared to what I have now. The place that did my mail order tune has changed pretty much every area. I went over most of the area's that I know about, and everything looks good, mainly because I have changed a lot of stuff from scans in those areas also, some places that have to do with some of the airflow charts and they also changed some numbers in the Max Torque Timing in the spark control menu. Did anyone touch this, or did you leave the Max Torque Timing stock?

              Re: Knock module

Max torque timing table is a reference table that the PCM uses to compute delivered trans torque. HPT suggests you leave that table stock.

So does that table do anything for manual transmissions? or is it just for auto's?

                  Re: Knock module

The PCM would still use it to compute delivered torque for other things with the manual.
