I hate to sound like a complete noob, but I just purchased a 96' Camaro 3.8 A/T that has the factory Bose sound... Well, I just purchased a Pioneer head unit (forgot the model, one of the single din models, probably the cheapest one that has HD radio and USB), and I need to know where to start on removing the factory head unit LOL.
I've owned 2 fox body Mustangs, still have an 89' LX 5.0, and Ford's 2-pronged "key" system for removing these things is so simple - so even though I've replaced sound systems in those cars, I still feel like a complete noob LOL.
I do have the wiring harnesses ready for this car, so I won't/shouldn't need to cut or splice wires, just need to know where to start to remove the head unit without damaging any of the dash.
Also, any suggestions on mounting kits? I don't really care about anything "custom" looking, I prefer a subtle, factory look.
1st poster here, long time lurker, glad to be here!
EDIT: Yes I did try the Search function, but couldn't find anything relevant to my problem (or at least anything in lamon's terms LOL).
