98 monsoon wont turn off

My 98 the radio wont shut off unless i yank the fuse out its really annoying because if i dont pull the fuse the batt dies over night. steps i have taken so far
checked the door pin switch...its fine
check the radio wiring harness....its fine
made sure no misc fuses were blown...nothing is

i am almost certain its the radio itself but just wanted to see if anyone else could chime in.

Your battery rundown protection should kill acc. power after 10 mins. This might be part of your problem. Try leaving a map light on and see if it goes out in ten min after you park/lock the car. When you pull the key out of the ignition do the interior lights come on? Also I know you said you checked the door switch, I assume you checked both of them (driver and passanger)? Let us know what you find out... :)

both door switches are good, key out of car in hand the radio will never shut off...i will check the interior lights coming on when u take the key out but i think they do come on

Check the relays behind the glove box. One of them might be stuck on. Unplug them and see if one turns off the radio.

Interior light does come on when key is taken out then goes back off after opening and closing door, got the glove box out but don't see any relays

They are on the left near the radio. You can also try unplugging the BCM.

I looked all over and didn't see any relays, didn't unplug the bcm just made sure it was all plugged up tight

Either the BCM controls a relay to power the radio, or the relay in internal to the BCM. My car has 2 relays behind the glove box near the radio. One of them flashes the lights when the factory alarm is activated. Unplug the BCM and if the rsadio goes off it is bad. If it doesn't you need to find the relay.

I'll try the bcm tomorrow but there definitely isn't any relays behind the glove box in my car

My BCM was screwy when I got my car too. That thing is a pain to get out when you don't know what you're doing
