I was just wondering if you all could help me out with building a ported box for 2 12 kicker cvrs? How would I do It and would it be worth it(louder). I currently have them in a sealed camaro custom fit box with poly-fill from a local audio shop it cost me $45.Also is there even enough space to do it and I want to build it myself. I have never built a ported box before but I have built many sealed boxes, so could you all help me. I have seen these ported boxes (prefabs) at my local audio shop but they are not custom fit could I buy one of those and would it fit since our trunks are not that big. thanks for reading !

    Re: ported sub box

I've got 2 12" CVR's and they hit hard in my ported box. Plus, the port carries it sooooo far that people think I've got a bigger system. My box fits in the rear trunk area, and has a nice size port. There wasn't enough room for a straight port, so what we did was build a channel like moving along the back wall that was the port. I'll try and get a diagram up for a better reference.

      Here ya go:

i don't have any specs on it, but i'll try and get some tomorrow. I didn't build the box, just helped with little parts of it, so I'm not entirely sure how it's built.

I am kind of confused on what you mean about the port. In the first picture it is in the middle and in the second picture it is on the side. Is the second picture the side view?and if it is, is the port still inthe middle but just curving?I also wanted to know could you post another diagram from the inside so i could better understand it coul you also label the sides of the box? Could you also post pictues of the box? I am sorry for all of these questions but I really want to build a better box for these subs. Thanks for everything!!!

sorry, 2nd pic is side view. Yes the port's still in the middle, just following the edge on down. I'll try and get some pics, but no guarantee I can get them up today.

lol. I didn't build the box, I had a friend do it for me. I'll try and get the specs, but no guarantee. Heck, I don't know if I even want to give out the specs, this box is crazy. I've got 2 12" CVR's, running on ~200W each, and this box carries their sound for blocks! I never ran these subs in a sealed box, but I did have a set of Punch Stage 1's from RF powered by the same amp, and they hit nowhere near what these things do!

Running them on a Rockford Fosgate 325.1. Putting out a whopping 400Ws to both of them, so 200W each.
