I blew out my monsoon door speaker in my camaro and Ive been looking for a new receiver and speakers. Ive decided what receiver i want the Pioneer DEH-P6900UB and for speakers either Infinity Reference 6022si or Polk db651s.
Ive read that i have to bypass the amp if im going to install aftermarket speakers so will the stock amp/Mid/Rear still work with a aftermarket receiver?
Im not really clear on what you're asking so correct me if im wrong.
You are only going to change the door speakers and you want to know if the rest of them will still work on a new head unit?
Not really.
Here's what I would do.
Replace the door speakers and the head unit and run all new speaker wire straight to the speaker from the head unit. And while you're at it, rip all the rear speakers out, buy some new ones and run wire to them from the head unit, essentially ditching the monsoon.
If you dont have the funds for the rear thats alright b/c a lot of people dont even have speakers back there and dont care to have them either.
