  • subwoofer wireing questions.....

    ok the specs for this amp i have is 450x1 at 4 ohms and i have a 10 inch rockford fosgate p3 is a dual 4 ohm voice coil.....my question is how do i go about wireing that to the amp to get the most power from it...if someone could like maybe do a quick sketch or something on the paint program on their computer id appriciate it alot.....thanks.....

    with A 4ohm dvc you make it into one 8ohm or one 2ohm ...
    for the "most power" run at 2ohm ...
    amp + to all subs +
    amp - to all subs -

      ^Yup, and hopefully the amp is fairly stable at 2ohms. Thats one problem you can run into with DVC subs and some amps.

        so just wire it up like a regular speaker one wire going to the positive and negative for one coil and another wire for the other coil or do i need any of that like jumper wire type stuff......do you think you could do a quick sketch on paint???

                    Oh, you better be careful then. If you are bridging a stereo amp, the amp will see half the mono load. For example, if you wire your DVC sub to a 2 ohm load and bridge your stereo amp, the amp is going to be running at 1 ohm. With that amp, I'll bet my left nut 1 ohm is a bad, bad, bad idea.

                      Just an FYI Lightning Audio is a division of Rockford corp. ( RF )


                      if its a 2ch just run at at 4ohm x 2

                            Just go here and pretend ch1+2 and ch3+4 are your left and right outputs.

                            This is not the most powerful setup for this amp, but your only option is to run 4 ohms.

                              its only a two channel amp though

                              so how would it look if i were to do it on a two channel and what will give me the most bass besides a new amp lol....
