what can I do to make my system hit harder and louder?I currently have two 12 inch kicker cvr dual 4 ohm in a prefab custom fit box with a dubmag audio amp that says it puts out 800 watts at 4 ohms.Would a better amp help out?Do you all think I should build a ported box for them?If so, would these things make that big of a difference.Any other suggestions would be helpful
is it possible to run your subs at a 2ohm? if your amp is 2 ohm stable it would push almost twice the output under a 2ohm load
or buy a 4 channel amp to run with your speakers
edit: never mind you cant run dual 4ohms at a 2ohm load
hey radracer did you build the box yourself and if you did could you give me some info about it.
I didn't build it, I had a buddy do it. It looks like a subthump enclosure, but it has a big port right between the two subs, about 12" wide by 3" long. I'm gonna buy a LED strip to put in there, and have it flash with the bass:D
as for wiring goes i didnt do like a super perfect job i put my system in at night right after i bought the car so its not perfect. i didnt use the sidewall. i wanted to run it right under the pcm but i didnt because i was afraid it may damamge the wiring harness so i ran it rhrought the side fender but it then goes into where the door wiring harness is so all of the wires are hidden. ill post a picture i think i ahve one
its actually centered now and theres another amp on top of the box.
there is 2 amps now one is on the front side so u see it the front when ur in the car and the other is on top of the box.
that looks like a very bad idea to me. having diff sized subs make them all compete for eachother and from my expierence, sounds like crap
This is correct. But a other nother thread, so I kept my mouth shut.
no it depends i have crossovers setup. the 15 only plays the reallly low notes. belive me it sounds really good. im currently selling my system tho beacuse i want my back seats.
my other car is a jeep and im only using two twelve inch MA audio subs and MA audio for an amp 600 watts and cracked my front windshield in the corners on the driver side and the box isn't ported but ported box are great if it is a sealed box for tighter harder hitting bass for rap/rock ipersonally like the alpine type r in my camaro just the speakers no sub and i cracked my passenger side mirror from raddleing:rock:

im sorry man, but what you said makes very little sense. not counting my highs, only one channel of my low amp (880 watts per sub) makes more power than what youre advertising... and you claim you cracked your windshield and side mirror? if thats the case we all need to invest in lexan for our cars.
come on man, be realistic... we know better.
foggy headlights? wetsand... buff... WAX!!! if nissan motorsports is nismo does that mean honda motorsports is homo?
here is an update of my system. you cant even breathe when the sub is playing. i have my trunk dynomated and it still rattles a bit. i just wish it wasnt so heavy. the sub is around 70lbs and the box is heavy as well. it can be heard from 4 blocks away eaisly. this sub is mean and it sets of car alarms easly. i just wish it wasnt so heavy

i really like that box, where did you get it or did you build it. this is my current set up.
right now it is just kinda thrown together i need a bigger amp for the solo's kicker 360 now. i can turn it all the way up and it hurts to sit in the car but is really clear because of the components.
