  • Current solutions to blown subwoofers?

1998 Firebird V-6 w/ the Monsoon type system and of course, the subwoofers are blown. What is the current solution for replacing them? Is someone making a 6.5" subwoofer? I don't really want to put a separate subwoofer setup in the car, but if that is the only option left anymore... well, so be it.

Also, what are suggested as better speakers for the fronts?

Not sure if these will work properly, partsexpress carries a few 6.5" sub.

You might even be able to get a deal on a pair. Look for the topic in this section labeled "Audio New Guy" or somethin like that.... I'm busy right now and am not looking....lol

Check and see if JL still makes the 6wo. It's what I used.

Anyone know or have used those Elemental Designs subs referenced above? I'm looking for a good sub right now.

There's really nothing to think about IMO. Elemental is a great company and I'm sure that particular product is all the quality that their other products are. Being that it comes in dual 2 or dual 4 ohm versions.... it's a god send for those looking to upgrade the Monsoon system.
