Dont have much of a choice. Positive from the sub to positive on channel #1. Negative from the sub to negative on channel #2. Should be getting 200WRMS. What the sub is rated at anyway. And yes, if you could find another 8 ohm P1 just like yours.... that would be good.
YOu can not make a 8ohm speaker a 4ohm speaker. Now if you get two you can hook it up as a 4ohm load to the AMP. Since the amp does not list power rating at 8ohms you will probably get about half of what it is rated at 4ohm.
The AMP just powers the speaker, the speaker sets what the ohm is.. 2,4,6,8..
Isnt that really bad to power an 800watt speaker with only 200watts?
First, not at all. The power rating on a speaker is simply a ballpark recommendation. Not a requirement.
Second, I thought you said it was only 150WRMS? (In your first post as well as in the Rockford link) So because it's no longer on the website, why do you think it's an 800WMAX subwoofer?
Thats what the guy said that my brother bought it from. He supposedly hooked it up to an 800watt amp and played it (I know that just because its an 800 watt amp Does NOT mean it was actually pushing 800, its all in the wiring).
2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!
(I know that just because its an 800 watt amp Does NOT mean it was actually pushing 800, its all in the wiring).
I certainly wouldn't say it's all in the wiring. It's all in the quality of the amp. If it's a flea market no name amp, no matter how you wire it, it's not going to output what's printed on the box.
And just because he connected the sub to a "800W" amp once upon a time, doesn't mean anything what so ever. There's too many unknown variables for us to come to any conclusions. Hook it up like I stated earlier. See if it's worth your time. If it's not enough for you, THEN you can worry about either buying a second identical sub.... or ditching everything and buying some real gear. lol
