  • Good Speakers

I'm looking for some good speakers for the back seat, and then eventually the trunk and front doors. I was checking out Infinity, Boston Acoustics, and JBL. I've got the stock Monsoon sound system, and I love the stock head unit so I plan on keeping that for a while. What type of speakers are compatible with it.

You might even be able to get a deal on a pair. Look for the topic in this section labeled "Audio New Guy" or somethin like that.... I'm busy right now and am not looking....lol
Are those speakers the correct ones for the rears? And any ideas on what to replace the front monsoon speakers with?

Dont know what year your car is.... or if it's a firebird or camaro..... but provided you have a spot in the door panel for a tweeter, snatch up a quality component set. ED Audio sells those too. PM the guy in that thread for a good deal on a pair of components and a pair of 7Kv.2 dual 4 ohm subwoofers.

Sorry, 99 Camaro w/ the Monsoon crap. Dunno if I have any good place in the door for a tweeter, never saw any suitable location for them.

Usually tweeters should be mounted close the the speaker itself, so you could make your own mounting location pretty easily, measure the tweeter ID and cut a hole for it to fit in.

as long as you use a hole saw, you shouldnt be able to see any sawing marks on the door panel or gaps.

Thought you might have door panels like these

You can use regular coaxial speakers if you wish.

Regular coaxials up front? Cause my fronts are blown.

I read that Infinity 72.7i is a plug and play for the front.

Very interesting read. Did I read that they used the same speakers for the doors and rear seat speakers (just wired from the back)?
