Upgrading Monsoon

Hey guys long time since I've been on. Anyways here is what I have, I am pretty sure of the dimensions and what they contain but if I am wrong please let me know:

1997 Firebird w/Monsoon System

2 speakers (6.5 inch???) in the front door w/separate tweeters (or at least theres a speaker cover for them on the door panelseparate from the other speaker)

2 speakers in rear seats (6.5 inches)

2 speakers in hatch area (4 Inches with a tweeter next to them)

My dilemma:

Most speakers are blown, rather than go buy all new monsoon speakers from the dealer, I would like to replace the speakers and wires with decent aftermarkets, while keeping the monsoon head unit.

Cost is an issue only because I am not sure how long i'll have the car, but I would like to hear if it is possible, and what I would need to do.

Read the modifications encyclopedia. We also have several topics going on right now regarding the same issue....

Dual 2 ohm version and price is for one speaker. Not pair.

Modification Encycl and search feature will answer EVERY question you probably have about the speakers... after reading all of that... then ask us some questions and we'll help ya out. Actually most of my speakers are blown as well... I need to replace them sometime. Let me know the path you go and how it sounds.

I will do that, it seems the only issue I need to research is about the amps, some criticism i have heard is if you only replace the speakers it wont be as loud as the factory.
