Re: A teaser...
It's important to note the sound was built for quality, not insane pointless power. That being said, it's still quite unbearable to push the volume over 80%for over a few seconds without going deaf, but the good part is even with that high volume, there is close to no distortion or frequency loss/takeover.
Some overview of what's done:
Radio
DoubleDin Pioneer DVD Changer (6 disc, front load)
Touchscreen
MP3, Bluetooth
Navigation
Connected to the functional buttons at the steering wheel for volume/track/mute/source control
Amps
1x DLS 2x200 Watts RMS (for front speakers)
1x DLS 2x200 RMS for subs (for subwoofers)
Speakers
Front doors - door was cut in pieces, completely rebuilt with accoustics box inside the door
2x DLS 130W RMS
2x DLS tweeters on top of the door, where the window starts
Passenger speaker
Factory speaker holders
2X DLS 130W RMS
Subwoofers at the back
Completely accoustically calculated and built subwoofer detail with dual 10" slots
2x DLS 150W RMS subwoofer speakers (150w rms if i'm not mistaken, or could be 200, not sure)

Re: A teaser...
Nice . People need to understand it's not all about 1000 watt rms subs and 100000 watt amps, it's all about having a perfectly tuned system. You may be pushing 400 rms but I am pretty sure it's probably louder than some 800 rms system since it's perfectly tuned. good job.

Re: A teaser...
In fact I would have not gone that far myself. I was looking at upgrading the sound, but when I met the EMMA guys at the garage they proposed if I would agree they make it a demo car for their shows & events thus making a superb sound installation with a superb discount for me :)
I don't mind taking the car here and there for photos and I certainly don't mind getting a top sound installation for half price. That being said, it still was hell expensive, just the sound setup was over 5k $

Actually you're right, I couldn't believe how much difference it makes to have the audio tuned correctly. I mean I first took the car when it was physically installed with all speakers, but no proper audio tuning was done because i was impatient and it was a friday (couldn't wait the whooooole weekend). It sounded good and I already thought that's it. The following week they took it back for 2 days and did proper sound tuning with accoustics checks and computer soundwave calculations etc etc. It is incredible how much better and more powerful it sounds now, just by changing settings and controlling the frequency flow.Last edited by tutin12; 11-06-2007, 09:35 AM.
