i might be getting a sub box with a 12" alpine (i think) but that's gonna take most of the room in the well of the trunk, but it'll supposedly put out more sound. but i could get a ten and stash it in that hole on the side of trunk with a stealth box. which would be better. or which is more important functionality>/<appearance?

Re: what's better?
Is the box with the 12" Alpine custom made for the F-bodies? Or is it just a square run-of-the-mill box? My vote is for the single 10" in the stealth box..... by far. Looks much better and will leave you storage space. Still plenty of output to round out anything else you may have.

The right 10" will sound a lot better than the 12" Alpine and leave you storage space. I'm not the type to run a single sub though ;)<b><a href=\"http://members.cox.net/95batmobile/d86f.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Sinister Six©</b></a><br /><a href=\"http://www.sounddomain.com/id/95batmobile\" target=\"_blank\">My \'95 Bird</a><br />I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.

I did it like this: http://forum.camarov6.com/showthread.php?t=84262
Sounds really good, and leaves the well open.
Optionally, you could install the mount in the "stealth" pocket and completely hide the wires instead of doing it all on top like I did. I did it all on top so I could remove the whole box as a unit for racing. (Takes less than a minute to remove the power wires and cap them off.)
I'm willing to build you one, or cut the MDF to size so all you have to do is screw it together so it can ship flat, or I can measure mine and send you plans. It's ~2.25 cu. Ft. You could fit 3 12's on it, but airspace isn't big enough for that. 2 typical 10s is about right, or 1 10 w/ a port. Check your speaker specs for sure of course.

I had my back window metered several times at 8%. And you can still see right through it during the day. The window is facing the sky and is just too large.Last edited by 96firebird311; 11-25-2007, 01:25 PM.

Re: what's better?
Meh, I live in a low-risk area, the car primarily goes from home to work and back, and at work it's daytime w/ cameras.
It does sound awesome too. I'll probably tint the car eventually, 15% on rear glass is legal here, 35% for doors, but you can tint darker as long as you're not totally blacked out they don't really care.
It's all in what the OP is comfortable with.
