Obviously, it isnt required to have them in seperate chambers, but if you feel the need to tear your box apart to do so, have fun

Depends on the set-up. Mine sounds amazing with them in one large chamber.

If you're running two of the exact same sub off the same amp, there's no reason to have them separated.

unless you reverse polarity on 1 sub they are fighting each other for air

Well put the piece in place glued and air nailed it a few times just to make sure. Have to wait till tomorrow for the glue to dry then i am going to caulk them and wire them up! Will post pictures tonight.

Or you could just not be an idiot and actually wire them correctly...:D

......I'm no sound scientist, but two exact same subs running on the same amp will not need separate chambers. IMO, all you've done is cut the total airspace per sub in slightly less than half (take into account the thickness of the board). Before they had combined airspace and had more airspace and if they're hitting at the same rate like they should, then they shouldn't be fighting for airspace.

well i figure im this far i didnt have to take my sub box apart to separate it so i m going to do it and see if it sounds better or worse then ill report back here

Infact, if you wanna split hairs, what if you don't split the box EXACTLY in half? Now one sub has more space than the other, and will perform different accordingly.

All in all, it's not a big deal. Certainly wouldn't call it "fixing" the box.:)

LOL ok ok. No but i know i split it in half took account the width of the boards and such. It actually isnt any louder or softer but sounds "clearer" you could say. Not a big difference so I cant say i'm upset I did it. If anything was just experience working with boxers and mine sound a tad better now.
