System question

I have a stock Monsoon system in my TA and want to upgrade the speakers because the stock ones keep on blowing.. what are some good options for a stock headunit and stock amp car?? I was thinking about these but would like everyones opinion..

JL AUDIO TR400-CXi 4" SPEAKERS + 4"X6" For the hatch
JL AUDIO VR650-CSi 6.5" COMPONENT SYSTEM SPEAKERS 6-1/2 For the back seat and the hatch tweeters..
BOSTON ACOUSTICS SX60 6.5 6.75 COMPONENT SPEAKERS for the fronts..

Also how do the Elemental Designs 7Kv.2 Subwoofers sound with a stock monsoon amp??

I've the utmost respect for ED, so I'm sure it would sound good, push the stock amp to the limit, but you will still be limited by it.

Personally I'd probably skip the 4x6 in the hatch, since they don't do much. Other speakers sound good to me tho.

Cool thanks for the link. I am going to replace the 4x6 since the JL's that I found are 45.00 for the pair..

The 4x6s are a waste, I'd save the $45. I also wouldn't buy JL components. I find them lacking in the midbass area compared to other sets. Plus for the price of the VRs you can use the $45 from the 4x6s that you don't need and put it toward a better set of comps up front like the Rainbow SLC 265s.

Rainbow SLC 265s up front, eD 7kv.2s in the sails, good amp for them... you'll be good to go.

My wife's '97 Bird has the "non-Monsoon" Monsoon System (since they didn't start calling it that until '98).
I replaced the subs in the sides with JL 6w0 and the door speakers with JBL GTO607c. We love the sound.
The tweets (front and rear) are run by the HU and everything else is routed through the amp.

Well I went with the Boston Acoustics SX60 coponants in the front's, Polk db 6501 6.5 coponants in the sail panel and the back tweeters, and the Boston acoustics s45 2 way 4inch in the back.. It sounds really good.. I wish it had a little more bass but it fine.. the back hatch speakers really sound good.. You couldnt really hear the stock speakers in the hatch but with the B/A and Polk tweets back there it really completes the system.. I think I am going to put one of my Polk 10 sub from my old car in a box for the cubby hole were the cd changer is suppose to go to get some more bass.. is that possible to add a sub and amp to a stock HU??
