  • Reciever mounting, depth issues

Shortly after i finished my component install, my RCA's started getting pretty bad interference in the form of noise corresponding with the RPM's my motor was at. Not a big deal, just replace the RCA's right?
Not exactly... after i put the new set in and tested them, i realized pretty quickly that the head unit was not going back in. There is a black box located right behind my receiver that is hitting the RCA plugs, not letting the receiver as a whole slide back in. Has anyone had this problem???

If you're talking about the plastic tab..... break that **** off! If it's not that, grab a couple right angle RCA adapters and be on your way.

its like a black plastic box with harnesses going into it, not a tab

but i took care of the fitting issues with a whole lotta force... i now have my very own custom 90* RCA's

        Re: Reciever mounting, depth issues

Also, you may be hearing the sound because your RCAs aren't grounding properly through your head unit. There's a device you can buy at any sound shop that hooks into the RCAs and gives you a ground wire to ground somewhere. I put it right behind my head unit and just grounded it right on my head unit's metal casing. My head unit doesn't go all the way in either. The far left side sticks out abit more than the rest. With my mounting plate though, you can barely tell, so I didn't mind.

i think it was a bad connection because everytime i wiggled on the RCA (on the amplifier side) the interference would go away... sounds amazing now
