    Re: sub cuts out

Try those songs I linked, it might be that whatever you are listening to doesn't have much bass. The ones at the bottom of the page are more fun to listen to, but the ones at the top are very precise.

If it can play those louder than you can stand, you're all set and just need better music. :D It looks like your box is sealed so it should do very well with the low frequencies (20-30hz.)

This one is crazy give it a try.

I don't think you would need more than 1 farad, but you're sure a cap is your prob?

i've tryed what everyone else has told me. and i the only problem is the cutting out under high out put, and the lights dimming. so it sounds like that is the problem. that is what i'm going to buy it from a local place. and if it's not the problem i can always return it.

              Re: sub cuts out

When your subs hit, does your voltage meter bounce a lot? If it does then get a cap, if not then don't bother.

                  Re: sub cuts out

I had 2 of the Pioneer subs like that that were 12's and drove them with a Kenwood 800 which is near identical to that Pioneer and never experienced it cutting out unless it was from low voltage. I didn't run a cap, but I had mad headlight dims from it. It sounds like a bad connection to me, somewhere. OR possibly the outputs from head unit need to be isolated from the amp, had that before and it caused a mind numbing alternator whine.
The cap may help with the voltage problem, but with good connections and large enough wire size you shouldn't need it. I used 4 ga. wire.
                  Good Luck,
                  and let us know!
